Campus Ministry

"Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and TRIED TO KEEP HIM FROM LEAVING THEM; but He said to them, 'I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.'" Luke 4:42-43. NKJV
This is the call of campus ministry, not just a ministry to students, but ministry to multiple cities, multiple sites to all people. YES, multiple site ministry is God's will and calling. He hasn't changed His mind in the 21st. century. Is it easy, no! Is it expensive, you bet it is! This walk of obedience will cost us EVERYTHING! If we lose our lives in Him, we will find our lives. We will discover exactly what God has called us to.
I don't know about you, but this kind of commitment used to stir up all the "what ifs..." in my heart. We first heard of multiple city ministry in 1973, there was a vision even back then. Verse 42 describes what happens when the what ifs take over, and it will you know!" "But Jesus, it's so good here." "But Jesus, it just won't be the same..." whatever our reservations or excuses, the calling remains, it will never change, it's ours too. Jesus will never, can never leave us, even for another campus. He doesn't love us any less, or love them more. His heart is big enough for everyone, His table big enough and full enough for all of us.
Next time you hear of an event at the Lake campus, drop by and see what is going on. You will hear God calling you to preach in cities too. God is the God who fully equips His people to do all He has called us to do. On to multiple cities to preach His word and fulfilling our purpose!
